PanelTEK Illuminates Manufacturing Facilities

PanelTEK’s Fond du Lac 30,000 square foot panel assembly facility recently received a makeover from Orion Energy Systems. Orion installed 108 LED light fixtures to brighten spaces for PanelTEK employees manufacturing industrial control panels, and also generating a financial savings of $10,945 annually.

PanelTEK chose the Harris LED High Bay Star Line, Gen-1 fixtures. They not only enable significant energy savings but also offer advanced motion control capability. Motion sensors control the fixtures based on the activity level in a selected area. The fixtures dim after 30 minutes of no movement and turn off after an hour if no motion is detected.

Going Green Makes It Easier for Prototype Engineers to Do Their Jobs

From building prototype assemblies to uploading PLC programming for industrial automation control panels, the new lighting has illuminated PanelTEK’s factory floor as well as their employees’ vision.

“I have had a couple of employees comment that the new LED lighting is like viewing things in high definition,” Mark Kallas, PanelTEK president says. “The quality makes it easier for everyone at PanelTEK to do their jobs.”

PanelTEK Lighting Solution is Good For Environment

With an annual kWh reduction of 134,460, PanelTEK’s production facility now emits 105 tons less of CO2 annually. It took 124 acres of U.S. Forests to offset that 105 tons of emissions now being saved, reducing PanelTEK’s carbon footprint.

Durable, with less risk of damage and breakage, LED lights are also mercury-free and reduce employee exposure to unhealthy UV rays. They also don’t waste any energy through heat loss.
