What is a UL 508A control panel?

A UL 508A control panel is an industrial control panel with a UL 508A Listing Mark. This mark serves as evidence of the panel builder’s UL certification, and panels built to those certification standards assure proper spacing, safety, and performance requirements have been met. UL certification is recognized and accepted by electrical inspectors and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Do control panels need to be UL listed?

Not all control panels need to be UL listed. However, UL listing is a must for industries with rigid demands such as control panels used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

When the work/installation area you are in requires UL, or you, or your end-user, just want to have the security of adding that extra level of safety to your equipment or process, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is the biggest and most widely known NTRL in the United States.
